# Ta'veren · the points where the Pattern bends to a life

Ta'veren are the people the Wheel itself bends the Pattern around — focal points so strong that chance reshapes itself in their presence. Near a ta'veren the threads of every nearby life are woven to the design the Age demands, and the impossible happens, for good or ill. The Pattern does not merely permit this; it insists upon it.

Rand, Mat, and Perrin are ta'veren of an age, three at once — a thing not seen in long memory. Where they walk, probability itself bends to the loom, and the world reorders to the needs of the turning Wheel rather than to ordinary cause and chance.

Their nature of emergence is ethereal because ta'veren belong to the Pattern rather than to the embodied world or the channeled current. They are not a force that is wielded but a place where the weave concentrates, where the design of the Age presses through into lives and events — the Pattern made local, bending to a single thread until the Wheel has what it demands.
