# Siuan Sanche · the fisherman's daughter who became Amyrlin

Siuan Sanche began as a Tairen fisherman's daughter and rose, against the weight of her low birth, to wear the stole of the Amyrlin Seat at the heart of the White Tower. From that highest seat she worked in secret with Moiraine, bending the Tower's reach toward a single quiet purpose: to find the Dragon Reborn and guide him toward what must come.

That work cost her dearly. She was deposed, stilled, and only afterward Healed, the Healing leaving her with a fraction of her former strength in the Power. Yet she lost her strength, never her steel. Stripped of the great channeling that had once defined her, she remained as sharp and unbending as ever, and turned that edge to Egwene's service as her shrewdest advisor.

For all the polish demanded by the Aes Sedai mask, Siuan never wholly left the docks behind. When the mask slips she is blunt as a dockside fishwife, plain-spoken and unawed by station. In the end she found love with Gareth Bryne, a steadiness to match her own.

Her emergence is natural because Siuan is, at root, an embodied person of the world — a daughter of fishermen who climbed by wit and will through worldly powers and the politics of the Tower, her story one of human rising, loss, and endurance rather than prophecy, Power, or the Light's own working.
