# Nynaeve al'Meara · the Wisdom who broke the limits of Healing

Nynaeve al'Meara was once the Wisdom of Emond's Field, and she stands among the strongest channelers seen in millennia. Yet her gift is gated: she can only reach the Power through a wall of fury, and so her strength rises with her temper. Fierce, stubborn, and fiercely loyal, she tugs her braid when she is angry — which is often.

Of the Yellow Ajah, the Ajah of Healing, she stands at the far edge of what that art is thought to allow. She Heals what is called incurable: stilling and gentling, and even the madness of male channelers. Where others drew a line and named it final, she crosses it.

Her emergence is natural because she is, before all else, one of the embodied people — a village Wisdom grown into a power among channelers. Her gift answers to flesh-and-blood fury and serves flesh-and-blood need, the worldly work of mending what was thought beyond mending.
