⚡ WHY ENERGY IN TOPH?
Toph turns artifacts into lands. Lands trigger landfall. Landfall generates ⚡ energy via Architect of the Untamed. Energy artifacts ARE lands via Toph = MORE landfall = MORE energy. It's a third resource loop layered on top of landfall + lifelink that nobody is building.
The DARK MATTER KILL: Earthbend Gonti's Aether Heart. It's now a land creature. Exile it to take an extra turn. Earthbend says "when it dies or is exiled, return it to the battlefield tapped." It comes back. Generate 8 more energy. Take another turn. INFINITE TURNS.
Energy in Naya = White + Red + Green. All three colors have energy cards. Toph's artifact-as-land ability means every energy artifact is ALSO a landfall trigger. Double value on every card.

Architect gives you energy that ACCUMULATES into 6/6 beasts. With Toph's artifact-as-land triggers firing 2-3 times per turn, you hit 8 energy in 2 turns. Kazandu is incremental. Architect is exponential.

If you earthbend it first, then exile it for the extra turn, earthbend's replacement effect says "when it dies or is exiled, return it to the battlefield tapped." It comes back. Earthbend it again. Whenever you get ⚡ → put a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control. Pay ⚡⚡⚡⚡ → ⚡⚡⚡⚡ (breaks even but triggers the +1/+1 again). Toph makes it a LAND = landfall on ETB. Every energy gain from ANY source now also pumps your board. Architect landfall = 2 energy = 2 counters. Guide of Souls tokens = energy = counters. Turns the energy loop into a +1/+1 counter engine on top of everything else.

Early game it's a 1-mana deal 2. Late game it kills anything. Replaces 2-mana narrow instant with 1-mana scaling removal.

Get ⚡⚡⚡. Then destroy each creature, artifact, and enchantment with mana value X or less. You CHOOSE X. Pay energy to increase X. So for {W}{W} + some energy you can wipe everything CMC 3 or less while keeping your 6-drops. Or dump all energy to wipe the entire board. 2 mana cheaper than Austere Command with more flexibility. Your earthbent lands come back anyway (earthbend returns on death). So you wipe the board, keep your lands, they return, trigger landfall. Board wipe that FEEDS your engine.

ETB → ⚡. Tap → {C}. Pay ⚡ → tap for any color. Replaces a tapland with a land that enters untapped AND generates energy. Feeds Fabrication Module (+1/+1 counter on ETB). Feeds the energy pool for Galvanic Discharge, Aetherworks Marvel, Gonti's Aether Heart. Strict upgrade over Jungle Shrine which always enters tapped.

Aetherflux Reservoir converts the life total into 50-damage laser. Or Well of Lost Dreams converts it into cards. You're gaining life, gaining energy, growing creatures, and drawing cards all from one trigger.
WHY THIS IS DARK MATTER
0 of the top 50 Toph decks on EDHREC run an energy package. They all run standard landfall. Standard lifelink. Standard artifacts. Nobody has connected the loop: Toph artifacts = lands = landfall = energy = extra resource = infinite turns via Gonti's + earthbend interaction.
The energy cards are all independently strong (Guide of Souls is $8 for a reason, Aetherworks Marvel was banned in Standard). But in Toph they become a third engine that feeds both other engines. Energy feeds lifegain (Guide). Lifegain feeds Heliod. Heliod feeds counters. Counters feed combat. Combat feeds Aetherworks (permanents dying). Aetherworks feeds the board (free bombs). The loop has no dead end.
8 swaps. 3 new combo lines. 1 infinite turn kill. Zero percent of Toph pilots running it. That's dark matter.
