The Transcriber — gated · set · metal

The config that survived its own test: Si-gated write, a discrete-band (set) store, and a metal (Cu) read. The energy budget runs 0→1: a write must clear the gate at 0.1 to enter; bits rest as discrete colour-bands in the valence window 0.2–0.8; a read lifts a carrier to the ejection line at 0.9, where it leaves as a photon. The threshold is a feature on write — it rejects noise — and a tax on read, so it sits on one end only.

Three focuses

elemental
electron carriers at the ports — matter in (gated), matter's energy lifted out.
ephemeral
the photon ejected at 0.9 — light leaving the box, the read product.
grounded
the discrete colour-bands in 0.2–0.8 — bits at rest, each a clean level.

Status discipline

LiteralA threshold rejects sub-gate signal on write and costs energy to cross on read; discrete levels carry no crosstalk.
BridgeGate-on-write / dump-on-read asymmetry; storage as discrete colour-bands; eject = read.
SpeculativeValence-in-the-middle on one 0→1 axis is a budget, not literal band positions; RGB as the three channels is a design rhyme.
