The phonon stops being alone. It drags electrons (superconductivity), sings to photons, scatters, decays, and carries topology. Ten frontier faces live on the 5-cube (2⁵ = 32 vertices) — pick one and it lights in the tumbling penteract. Underneath, one law ties it together: the Planck distribution that phonons and photons share, and its regulators — the cutoffs that turn the divergent zero-point sum Σ½ℏω into finite, real physics (the Casimir force). And because it's the finale: the Sapphic melody, laid on a mode ladder and dressed in regulators, its infinite tower tamed to a single finite number.

The regulator

⚑ The honest −1/12 (and −1/24). The sum 1+2+3+… does not converge to −1/12. What's real: strip the cutoff-dependent divergence and a universal finite remainder is left. For the bare sum Σn that remainder is −1/12 = ζ(−1); for the zero-point energy Σ½ω it's half that, −1/24 — exactly the 1-D Casimir coefficient (E = −ℏcπ/24L, attractive). Watch it emerge as ε shrinks (linear ladder only).
