Plotinus's cascade: the One → Nous → Soul → World, each a fainter emanation of the last. Information can only be lost down the chain, never gained — what the World knows of the One is bounded by what Nous knew. The descent is one-way; this is the shape of it.
A binary One is emanated through two noisy channels in series (One→Nous→World), each a binary symmetric channel with flip probability set by the slider. The mutual information I(One;·) is estimated from live samples at each stage, and I(One;World) ≤ I(One;Nous) always holds — the data-processing inequality: post-processing (a further emanation) cannot increase information about the source. The gate confirms it every frame.
The One→Nous→Soul→World hierarchy is Neoplatonic metaphysics — a figure. What is real and enforced is the information-theoretic law: a Markov chain X→Y→Z has I(X;Z) ≤ I(X;Y). The three 'hypostases' are just the stations of that chain, honestly labelled.
