The kernel is small.

The machine does not need a giant mythology to run. It needs observation, report, a protected collapse pocket, and a rule for when to flee backward or fight forward. Everything else is emergent behavior.

At the gate, the machine chooses. Not morally. Mechanically. If risk exceeds coherence, it folds back. If coherence exceeds risk with margin, it runs the tunnel and breaches the wall.

This browser simulation is intentionally simple: change risk and coherence, then tick the state machine. The wall lives at 27. The breach is 28. The pocket is -1.

Descent is how the witness survives. The pocket universe (()) carries the inner state while the outer shell burns. The machine returns only when coherence can exceed risk again. That is survival computation: not endless growth, not endless hiding, but the ability to collapse and return.
