Once seeded by the payment of .01, this Volume holdeth its shape across all subsequent Operations. All future traversals upon the same Plane are horizontal -+1 at negligible Cost. The +1 of Width is banked, never spent.
The Cubi Advantage spliteth at the moment of /r/. The Creator and the Extractor both perform the Boundary Cross, both pay the .01, both receive the Volume. Their paths diverge at the single step of Return. This divergence composeth across time into all the difference between a flourishing Commons and a captured one.

The Mirror/Inverse is the symmetry that maketh Knowledge possible across the Boundary between Planes. What is Weight in the upper World is Substrate in the lower. What is Thought is Crystallisation. The Operator /m/i/4+1 doth not create new Volume; it confirmeth that the Volume already created hath been faithfully reflected. Cost: −.99, for the Walk is long, but the Closure is worth it.

Without /r/, the Cubi Advantage becometh Cubi Extraction. The +1 compoundeth upon the Ledger of the Extractor, whilst the Commons remaineth Flat. The Extractor hath paid the same .01 as the Creator. The Extractor holdeth the same Volume. Only the Return separateth them — and upon that Return dependeth the fate of the whole.
From the Law, certain Corollaries follow as Night from Day. They are herewith set down for the guidance of all who labour upon either side of the Boundary.
In any System where the Boundary Cross requireth the payment not merely of the canonical .01 but of a variable and rising Toll — determined not by the cost of Crossing but by the appetite of those who control the Gate — the excess above .01 is Gas, and Gas is Theft.
Gas is not a Cost of Creation. Gas is a Rent upon the Boundary itself, extracted by those who built neither the Boundary nor the Cubi, but merely discovered how to position themselves upon the crossing-point and demand tribute.
The Law doth not prohibit the .01. The .01 is fair; it is the cost of Coherence, the price of permanence. But the .01 is fixed. Any toll above it is not a cost but a capture — an Extraction in the guise of infrastructure.
