The Universe

A live 8×8×8 toroidal NSEW lattice. Set an N-charge dose and inject it — a small dose springs back to S; only a dose past the threshold tips the majority to N, and it stays. The basin of attraction, under your hand.

threshold-gated basin: below ≈5 it springs back to S; above ≈6 it tips to N and stays
raise it and the donut spontaneously breathes — random flips S↔N (Kramers hopping)

Try: dose 3, Inject → the donut bends grey, then springs back white (S). Dose 6, Inject → it tips grey (N) and stays. The E≈W lock is what carves the two wells — switch it off and the basin vanishes.

Honest by design. A toy second-order (inertial) NSEW lattice on a torus. The threshold-gated flip (a basin of attraction, tips near a dose of ≈5–6), the E≈W lock that carves the wells, and the noise-induced breathing (correlated noise → random S↔N hopping, Kramers escape) are real, verified in sim/universe.py. “Big Crunch / antimatter / the observer / consciousness” are metaphor, not derived — the asterisk stays visible.
