THE FOLDED KERNEL

FK-1.3 · one ladder, one real fold · spec ROOT0/UD0 · the seam is where the spinor flips — engine-certified, not float-faked · witness on

booting — running engine + belt-trick cross-check...

conductor — live engine vs disk (foldkernel2.py) + seam facts

3D — the tower, seam lit, spinor at the fold (soft-GL)

six rungs, plasma tori ring-filling in .10 opacity steps. the seam rung (16→4) glows magenta and carries the belt: turn once → the ribbon twists and the marker flips RED (−1); turn again → it closes GREEN (+1). the seam stays lit unless you black it. drag to rotate.

2D — value column, seam, and the sign ladder

left: the six rungs with base/value/rail; d-step between rungs printed — the 2.0 fold (missing 8) boxed magenta, the 0.0 floor boxed green. right: the belt phase — 0° to 720°, −1 at 360°, +1 at 720°, your turn marked. {−{+{−}}} is the sign column.

toddler corner

ELI5: a ladder where every step down is "cut it in half" — 64, 32, 16… but at one step the ladder skips a rung: 16 jumps straight to 4, and the 8 is missing. that skip is the FOLD. right there, something quietly turns over — like a belt with one twist in it, or a plate you spin on your hand that comes back upside-down after one turn and only comes right after TWO. that is a spinor: the thing that needs to go around twice to come home. the very bottom rung refuses to halve — it holds a 2 and stops — that is where the twice-around finally closes. we thought a broken step lower down was the fold, but we checked: that one was just our ruler being sloppy with thirds (0.6 is bumpy in binary). the REAL fold is the missing 8, and the ladder itself told us so.
