Every unit is a qubit-pair with 4 measurement planes. The sorter reads its margin: confident units take the 1/4 STREAM lane — one sharp plane, cleave early, cheap. Contested units divert to the 2/4 PARITY bay: shine both probes IN PHASE, read the joint parity (same/different) without collapsing the data — the stabilizer trick. The 4/4 gate is lit but FORBIDDEN: no unit can sharpen all four planes at once (the planes don't commute). You can sample 1 of 4, or 2 of 4 in phase. Never 4.
