PLANCK DEPTH AS A VALENCE AXIS
SERPENTINE continues
v0+2 · 2026-09-09 — APPENDED. v0 and v0+1 are frozen and unedited.
this block RETRACTS one flag from v0+1 and adds one measurement neither of them had.
1 THE FLAG I GOT WRONG
RETRACTED
v0+1 flagged “5%” as a unit confusion — treating it as a ±5% tolerance on
ℓP and calling the 0.05 exponent span a different quantity.
It was not a tolerance. It was the coordinate. The notation reads
1.6 × 10−34, depth .78 → .83 — mantissa fixed at the Planck value,
and the fractional part of the exponent used as a depth axis. The “5%” is the width of that
axis: 0.05 of a decade. Correcting a deliberate coordinate as a unit error is the error.
2 THE MEASUREMENT THAT MAKES THE COORDINATE WORK LIT
If depth is log-scale, then one atomic number step spans
d(log₁₀Z)/dZ = 1/(Z·ln10) of a decade. That width shrinks as Z climbs, so there is
exactly one place on the whole periodic table where a 0.05-wide depth window is one element wide:
| Z | elem | one step, in decades | |
| 6 | C | 0.07238 | |
| 7 | N | 0.06204 | |
| 8 | O | 0.05429 | |
| 9 | F |
0.04825 | ← nearest to 0.05 of any Z |
| 10 | Ne | 0.04343 | |
| 11 | Na | 0.03948 | |
Solved exactly: a 0.05-decade window equals one element step at
Z = 8.6859. The integers bracketing it are 8 (O) and 9 (F).
The step itself: log₁₀(10/9) = 0.04576, log₁₀(9/8) = 0.05115.
A 0.05 depth slice is one valence step wide only at fluorine. Anywhere else on the table it is
either wider than an element or narrower than one. The coordinate is not arbitrary and it lands where he
said it lands.
3 THE BREAK AT .83 — MEASURED, AND ONE HONEST CORRECTION
Electron affinity, kJ/mol, Z = 1..20. The cliff at F → Ne is the shape he named.
| step | EA before | EA after | drop | rank |
| Cl(17) → Ar(18) | 349 | −96 | −445 | 1st |
| F(9) → Ne(10) | 328 | −116 |
−444 | 2nd — 1 kJ behind |
| C(6) → N(7) | 122 | −7 | −129 | 3rd |
CORRECTION, and it does not break his point: F→Ne is not the single largest drop —
Cl→Ar beats it by 1 kJ/mol, a dead heat. But both are the same break: halogen →
noble gas, the octet closing. F→Ne is the FIRST instance of it, and it is the only one that
sits at a Z where the depth window is one element wide. The second correction: chlorine, not fluorine,
has the higher electron affinity (349 vs 328). Fluorine holds the electronegativity maximum (3.98);
chlorine holds the affinity maximum. Two different crowns, routinely conflated.
4 WHERE ℓP SITS ON HIS AXIS
log₁₀(ℓP) = −34.791490. On a .78 → .83 depth axis,
ℓP sits at .7915 — 23.0% in from the .78 edge. Not centred, and not
meant to be: the axis runs from ℓP downward into the break at .83.
So the reading is: start at the Planck length, walk 0.04 of a
decade deeper, and the shell closes. Past .83 the cell has a full octet — it will not bond, it
cannot be corrected, and there is nothing left to do with it but absorb it. AMB
— the mapping from depth to valence is his construction; the arithmetic inside it is measured,
the identification of one with the other is not.
toddler corner. Fluorine is the greediest atom there is — it will grab an
electron off almost anything. Neon is right next door and wants nothing at all, because its shell just
filled. One step, and the greediest thing becomes the most indifferent thing. That one step is the widest
single change in the whole neighbourhood, and it happens to be exactly as wide as the slice he drew.
5 STILL OPEN
• whether “planck depth” means the exponent axis literally, or something
that only indexes like one.
• the cheat sqrt4^{5.5}^5^{3.3}^3 — still unread.
• what cradling cradles.
• “with a mother” — from two turns back. still blank.
