THE LADDER THERMOSTAT

−+10/9/6/5/4/3/2/1/1/0/0 · agents step down toward rest

THE RULE

180 agents stand on signed rungs of the homeostatic ladder 10, 9, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 0, 0. They are born in ± pairs, so the total starts at 0. When two meet with opposite signs on the same rung, both step one rung down. Opposite signs on different rungs swap places. Heat kicks matched pairs one rung back up.

Raise the heat to fight the settling. Tap to kick nearby matched pairs back to the top rung. The same ?seed= always gives the same run.

WHAT IS CLAIMED

LITEvery rule conserves the signed sum. Every 30 steps Σ must be 0 and every agent must be on the ladder, or the page throws.

AMBERThe ladder is Dave’s homeostatic model, not a physical law.
