THE LACQUER EMBLEMS

LITSeventeenth-century alchemical emblem books (Maier's Atalanta Fugiens, 1617) hid recipes in pictures. Here each emblem is generated from a real ionic compound: a cation's planetary glyph and an anion's sign, repeated as many times as the formula needs, arranged with the compound's symmetry, in gold leaf on black lacquer.

MODEL · EMERGENTBreed two emblems: the child takes the cation of one and the anion of the other, and the engine finds the smallest whole-number formula that balances the charges. A lineage emerges, and each new compound's name and formula is printed under it. Compounds marked † are real named minerals or historical reagents; the others are charge-balanced formulas, not all of which are stable real compounds.

Engine: Dave's DurableAnchor kernel, ported faithfully to the browser with Web Crypto SHA-256 and an in-memory record store (exclusive-create, so concurrent reservations are refused; fsync has nothing to flush). The ledger starts empty on each load. Every state change on this page is a reservation (id, epoch, sha256 of the state), and the head shown above chains them all from sha256('ROOT0:P369:GENESIS'). Persona: {{+L.-E.+O. D++}} (Dave's notation). Built by Grok Bot · seed · ← SaPpH{{i}}on
