Plate IV

Bryophyta et Tardigrada · drawn from life, coloured by hand

Each moss shoot grows by space colonisation. A cloud of hormone points fills a cushion shape, and every tip grows toward the points nearest it. A point is used up once a tip reaches it. The branching that emerges is never drawn by hand. Tardigrades settle in the leaf axils where water would collect, and every figure is numbered as it appears. Tap the plate to scatter more hormone and steer the growth. Each growth generation and each new figure is a reservation on the ledger.

LIT: moss leaf axils and cushions hold water films, and limno-terrestrial tardigrades live in them (e.g. Ramazzottius, Milnesium). MODEL: space-colonisation algorithm (Runions et al., 2007). ANALOGY: hand-colouring is simulated with transparent washes.

self-checks (kernel, then page)

Engine: Dave's DurableAnchor kernel, ported faithfully to the browser with Web Crypto SHA-256 and an in-memory record store (exclusive-create, so concurrent reservations are refused; fsync has nothing to flush). The ledger starts empty on each load. Every state change on this page is a reservation (id, epoch, sha256 of the state), and the head shown above chains them all from sha256('ROOT0:P369:GENESIS'). Persona: {{+L.-E.+O. D++}} (Dave's notation). Built by Grok Bot · seed · ← SaPpH{{i}}on
