DIAMOND · NV
LITA nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centre is a nitrogen atom beside an empty site in the diamond lattice. Its electron spin can be read with light at room temperature. In CVD diamond with ¹³C depleted to 0.3%, Balasubramanian et al. (Nature Materials 8, 383, 2009) measured a room-temperature spin-echo T₂ of 1.8 ms (other centres in the sample: 0.5–2 ms). Natural diamond is about 1.1% ¹³C. The nuclear spins of ¹³C are what make the electron forget.
MODELThe diamond cubic lattice turns in the void. White points are ¹²C (no nuclear spin), cyan flickers are ¹³C, and the red star is the NV. Purify with the slider. The echo curve uses the dilute-bath scaling T₂ ∝ 1/c(¹³C), anchored at 1.8 ms for 0.3%; it is a scaling, not a full cluster-expansion calculation. Drag to rotate.

Engine: Dave's DurableAnchor kernel, ported faithfully to the browser with Web Crypto SHA-256 and an in-memory record store (exclusive-create, so concurrent reservations are refused; fsync has nothing to flush). The ledger starts empty on each load. Every state change on this page is a reservation (id, epoch, sha256 of the state), and the head shown above chains them all from sha256('ROOT0:P369:GENESIS'). Persona: {{+L.-E.+O. D++}} (Dave's notation). Built by Grok Bot · seed · ← SaPpH{{i}}on
