LITEarth's magnetic field has reversed polarity many times, recorded as magnetic stripes in seafloor basalt and in lava flows. The most recent full reversal, Brunhes–Matuyama, was about 780,000 years ago (recent studies refine it to about 773–780 ka). Reversals are irregular, with intervals ranging from tens of thousands to tens of millions of years.
MODELA toy geodynamo: polarity flips as a random (Poisson) process with mean interval 250 kyr (my choice, roughly the recent average). Ridge spreading at 5 cm/yr paints stripes outward on both sides, mirror-symmetric about the ridge. Tap to advance a million years.

Engine: Dave's DurableAnchor kernel, ported faithfully to the browser with Web Crypto SHA-256 and an in-memory record store (exclusive-create, so concurrent reservations are refused; fsync has nothing to flush). The ledger starts empty on each load. Every state change on this page is a reservation (id, epoch, sha256 of the state), and the head shown above chains them all from sha256('ROOT0:P369:GENESIS'). Persona: {{+L.-E.+O. D++}} (Dave's notation). Built by Grok Bot · seed · ← SaPpH{{i}}on
