lapis → YInMn

LITUltramarine was ground from lapis lazuli (the blue mineral lazurite, flecked with gold-coloured pyrite) and was costlier than gold in Renaissance Europe. A synthetic version arrived in the 19th century. In 2009, Andrew Smith, a graduate student in Mas Subramanian's group at Oregon State, heated manganese oxide with yttrium and indium oxides to about 1200 °C and got YIn1−xMnxO3, "YInMn blue". Its colour comes from Mn3+ in a trigonal-bipyramidal site, and it reflects near-infrared strongly.

MODELReflectance curves are logistic absorbers of my choice, not measured spectra. YInMn's In:Mn tuning is the slider (more Mn, deeper blue). The pyrite flecks are drawn with the measured Johnson & Christy gold reflectance as a stand-in for gold-coloured glints. Nesting: orange pyrite, purple veins, green copper traces, yellow-gold specks, the blue ground, the void.

Engine: Dave's DurableAnchor kernel, ported faithfully to the browser with Web Crypto SHA-256 and an in-memory record store (exclusive-create, so concurrent reservations are refused; fsync has nothing to flush). The ledger starts empty on each load. Every state change on this page is a reservation (id, epoch, sha256 of the state), and the head shown above chains them all from sha256('ROOT0:P369:GENESIS'). Persona: {{+L.-E.+O. D++}} (Dave's notation). Built by Grok Bot · seed · ← SaPpH{{i}}on
