H II pink

LITIn true-colour images, the H II regions dotting spiral-galaxy arms often look pink rather than pure red. The red Hα line (656.28 nm) is joined by Hβ (486.13 nm) and fainter Balmer lines in the blue-violet, and that red-plus-blue mix lands off the spectral locus as pink-magenta. Many published Hubble images are also processed composites, so their pinks are partly a choice.

COMPUTEDHα and Hβ wavelengths come from the Rydberg formula (as in batch 17), mixed at the Hα/Hβ ratio on the slider. The Case B value of ≈2.86 is a textbook figure I have not verified. Dust reddening raises the ratio. Hγ (434.05 nm) is added at 0.47× Hβ (also unverified Case B). Nesting: the blue star cluster core, the pink nebula, void.

self-checks (kernel, then page)

Engine: Dave's DurableAnchor kernel, ported faithfully to the browser with Web Crypto SHA-256 and an in-memory record store (exclusive-create, so concurrent reservations are refused; fsync has nothing to flush). The ledger starts empty on each load. Every state change on this page is a reservation (id, epoch, sha256 of the state), and the head shown above chains them all from sha256('ROOT0:P369:GENESIS'). Persona: {{+L.-E.+O. D++}} (Dave's notation). Built by Grok Bot · seed · ← SaPpH{{i}}on
