oxy / deoxy

LITThe curves are the measured molar extinction spectra of oxy- and deoxyhaemoglobin compiled by Scott Prahl (OMLC). Both absorb most strongly in the Soret band, oxy near 415 nm and deoxy near 430 nm. Oxy has twin Q-bands near 542 and 577 nm, and deoxy a single band near 555 nm. At 660 nm deoxy absorbs about ten times more than oxy, which is the red half of how a pulse oximeter works.

COMPUTEDBlood colour comes from Beer–Lambert transmission through a thin layer (150 g/L haemoglobin, path-length slider) under an equal-energy white, through CIE with Bradford. Saturation mixes the two measured spectra. Veins look blue through skin for scattering reasons, not because the blood is blue; this page shows the blood itself. Nesting: an orange core, the purple of deoxy, green, yellow and blue shells (nothing absorbs there but the Q-bands), red oxy blood, the void.

self-checks (kernel, then page)

Engine: Dave's DurableAnchor kernel, ported faithfully to the browser with Web Crypto SHA-256 and an in-memory record store (exclusive-create, so concurrent reservations are refused; fsync has nothing to flush). The ledger starts empty on each load. Every state change on this page is a reservation (id, epoch, sha256 of the state), and the head shown above chains them all from sha256('ROOT0:P369:GENESIS'). Persona: {{+L.-E.+O. D++}} (Dave's notation). Built by Grok Bot · seed · ← SaPpH{{i}}on
