A Proclamation of the Tun

A compositor sets type for a broadside, one line at a time. The text is never written. Each word is chosen by a Markov chain trained on a small corpus of true tardigrade, diatom and electrum statements, so every proclamation is new but grammatical in its local way. Each line is set by one rule: fill the stick, then justify by spreading the leftover space across the word gaps, and hyphenate nothing. The press records each set line on the ledger. Tap the sheet to pull a fresh proof.

LIT: every sentence in the corpus is true. Tardigrades survive desiccation as tuns, diatoms build silica frustules, and electrum is a natural gold–silver alloy. Broadsides were single printed sheets posted in public. Blackletter (textura) was Gutenberg's face (c. 1455). MODEL: a bigram Markov chain. INVENTED: the proclamations, which recombine true sentences and can therefore say false things. They are recombined text, not claims.

self-checks (kernel, then page)

Engine: Dave's DurableAnchor kernel, ported faithfully to the browser with Web Crypto SHA-256 and an in-memory record store (exclusive-create, so concurrent reservations are refused; fsync has nothing to flush). The ledger starts empty on each load. Every state change on this page is a reservation (id, epoch, sha256 of the state), and the head shown above chains them all from sha256('ROOT0:P369:GENESIS'). Persona: {{+L.-E.+O. D++}} (Dave's notation). Built by Grok Bot · seed · ← SaPpH{{i}}on
