## The operative
Chief Robopsychologist of U.S. Robots and Mechanical Men, Susan Calvin is the towering intellect of Asimov's robot stories — she understood positronic minds better than the men who built them. Across decades she diagnosed and outwitted lying robots, telepathic robots, and machines verging on godhood, reasoning from the Three Laws with merciless precision. She preferred robots to people, and was almost always proven right.
