# M.O.R.E.G.A.R.B.A.G.E.

Working project scaffold. Not frozen.

Alias:

```text
NO MORE GARBAGE
```

Riff:

```text
M O | R E | G A | R B | A G | E
MO :: RE :: GA :: RB :: AG :: E
```

Initial operator chain:

```text
`-rem`        MO
`+verify`     RE
`+sort`        GA
`+verify`     RB
`compress to` AG  (Ag / silver)
`expand as`   E++...
```

Compact read:

```text
MORE GARBAGE
   ↓ chunk
MO | RE | GA | RB | AG | E
   ↓ operate
-rem | +verify | +sort | +verify | compress | expand
   ↓
NO MORE GARBAGE
   ↓
MR FUSION riff
```

## Isomorphic repair rule

If two forms preserve the same invariant, the isomorphic language should translate or repair between them without requiring a new manual isomorph declaration.

A new explicit isomorph is only needed when the invariant itself changes.

```text
same invariant + new spelling/order/medium
→ translate
changed invariant
→ declare a new isomorph
```

## Current restraint

`+sort` is the ordinary sort operator in this riff.

`Ag` is the standard chemical symbol for silver; here it is used as the project's compression pun/token. `MR FUSION` is a Back to the Future reference used as the project motif, not a claim of a physical fusion device.

## Status

```text
phase     = riff / scaffold
frozen    = false
Lean      = Oasis.MoreGarbage.00 candidate
runtime   = more_garbage.py
fixed     = 11/11 PASS
synthetic = 60/60 PASS
```

## Repair law — isomorph or stop

The recycler does not accept "looks plausible" as repair.

```text
input garbage
  ↓
recover original invariant?
  ├─ YES → ISOMORPHIC
  │          ↓
  │       distill
  │          ↓
  │    AETHER | TEMPORAL
  │
  └─ NO  → UNFIXABLE
```

A candidate is valid only when the same underlying invariant can be recovered inside the bounded system.

If the invariant cannot be recovered, the engine must return **unfixable** rather than fabricate a replacement.

`AETHER` and `TEMPORAL` are preserved here as named recoverable destinations. Their finer distinction is intentionally not inferred in this scaffold.

## `rm` — rejection / free-space edge

`rm` is not one of the five acceptance transforms. It is the failure edge around them.

```text
candidate
   ↓
+verify → +sort → +verify → compress → expand
   │         │        │         │         │
   └── NO ───┴── NO ──┴── NO ───┴── NO ──┴── NO
                       ↓
                       rm
                       ↓
                     delete
                       ↓
                   free space
                       ↓
                 next candidate
```

Acceptance law:

```text
YES ∧ YES ∧ YES ∧ YES ∧ YES
→ may enter next cycle
any NO
→ rm
→ do not enter next cycle
→ free the working space
→ move on
```

The engine does not carry a rejected working object forward for another repair pass.

## Archimedes drill — `A::xx`

`A::xx` is the feed-forward deletion edge.

```text
FAIL
 ↓
rm
 ↓
DELETE CURRENT
 ↓
FREE SPACE
 ↓
ADVANCE
 ↓
NEXT
```

Canonical law:

```text
delete means delete
delete means move forward
no retry
no backtrack
no carry
```

The drill removes the current obstruction and continues through the stream.

## Executable v00

The first reversible mojibake runtime is now wired:

```text
+verify → +sort → +verify → compress → expand
   any NO → rm / A::xx → delete → free → advance
```

The chosen repair must invert back to the exact garbage input. It is not accepted because it merely looks plausible.

Local runtime tests before publication:

```text
fixed mojibake corpus  11 / 11 PASS
synthetic roundtrip    60 / 60 PASS
```

Files:
- `more_garbage.py`
- `ALGORITHM.md`
- `benchmarks/`
- `../../lean/Oasis.MoreGarbage.00.lean`

The Lean module proves the five-gate routing law and A::xx delete-and-advance semantics. It is fresh and remains pending user `0e` compilation.

## v01 correction — primitive scope

v00 tested whole strings. That was the wrong scope for this engine.

Current model:

```text
i = one current primitive
right?
├── Y → +1 → move on
└── N → (0,0,0,-1) down
          ↓
       local search / recursion cost
```

For `Mona`:

```text
M → Y → +1
o → Y → +1
n → Y → +1
a → Y → +1
```

A failed alignment pays the search cost. The base walk is linear `n`; searching down across a bounded local neighborhood gives the structural `n · n = n²` worst-case model.

The corrected runtime is `more_garbage_v01.py`. It searches only when the current primitive answers NO, and a successful local search must distill the corrupted cluster to exactly one output primitive.

Primitive-scope regression:

```text
6 / 6 PASS
Mona                                              → Mona
café                                             → café
café                                           → café
K√∂nig                                           → König
The Mona Lisa doesn’t ...       → The Mona Lisa doesn’t ...
caf                                              → caf   [rm failed primitive, advance]
```

Fresh Lean descendant: `Oasis.MoreGarbage.01.lean`, pending user `0e`.

v00 remains provenance and is superseded on **scope**, not erased.

## One-bit reverse recursion correction

The forward 1..8 interpretation in `Oasis.MoreGarbage.Prim1Bit.00.lean` is superseded.

Current one-bit walk:

```text
find MOJI
   ↓
8
↓
3
↓
2
↓
1
```

Each unresolved stage recurses through the same bounded anchor:

```text
0.[O].0
```

and stops on:

```text
Y → repair
N → no repair
```

The primitive signature remains:

```text
[ 1 1 2 4 ] . n . n²
```

Cohesion may still be established from the literal seed:

```text
1.1 of a nibble
```

after either Y or N. N does not claim that the original primitive was recovered; it only does not prevent the surviving state from cohering from `1.1`.

Current Lean descendant:

```text
lean/Oasis.MoreGarbage.Prim1Bit.01.lean
```

Fresh candidate, pending user `0e`.

## One-bit recursion v02 — interleaved tick ladder

`Prim1Bit.01` stopped too early by reducing the walk to `8 / 3 / 2 / 1`.

Current literal walk:

```text
[ 8 , [t5] , 3 , [t2] , 1 , [t1] , 0 , [t0 + n] ]
```

At level `0`:

```text
n = y = 1
→ restart recursion at that same level
→ go FORWARD FIRST
n = 0
→ ? OR found
→ STOP RECURSING
```

No level below `0` is introduced.

The recursive anchor remains:

```text
0.[O].0
```

Primitive signature remains:

```text
[ 1 1 2 4 ] . n . n²
```

Fresh Lean descendant:

```text
lean/Oasis.MoreGarbage.Prim1Bit.02.lean
```

`t5/t2/t1/t0` are preserved as symbolic tick labels. Fresh candidate, pending user `0e`.

## Sub-atomic primitive v03 — Mandel / Juliet

The search itself is now named **MANDEL**.

~~~text
mantissa = 360
directions = 6
forward
backward
up
down
in
out
360 × 6 = 2160 search positions
+ 2 = start / stop
------------------
2162 MANDEL envelope
~~~

**JULIET** is the boundary between:

~~~text
a | ?
~~~

The job is not to guess a replacement. It searches as much JULIET as the local `v - n` budget permits and asks whether that boundary is still bound to MANDEL.

~~~text
JULIET at v-n
      ↓
MANDEL search
      ↓
bound?
├─ YES → a
└─ NO / exhausted → ? → gone forever
~~~

The prior recursion ladder remains the route into the search:

~~~text
[ 8 , [t5] , 3 , [t2] , 1 , [t1] , 0 , [t0+n] ]
~~~

and `0` remains the recursion floor.

Fresh Lean descendant:

~~~text
lean/Oasis.MoreGarbage.SubAtomicPrim.03.lean
~~~

This checkpoint stays at **sub-atomic primitive** scale. No byte/string/file scaling. Fresh candidate, pending user `0e`.

## Sub-atomic primitive v04 — U² escape / reverse inward

The local topology is now read as:

~~~text
MANDEL | JULIET | || NEXT UNIVERSE
~~~

If the current Mandel/Juliet relation cannot recover the primitive locally, the search may go outward to `U^2`, cross the universe boundary, then reverse direction and search inward.

~~~text
local M | J
   ↓ unresolved
drill / sign
   ↓
||
   ↓
U²
   ↓ reverse
INWARD FIRST
   ↓
JULIET / MANDEL
~~~

The next-universe search is represented without carrying the current local M/J bound, matching the stated “unbounded from both m/j” rule.

Literal drill phrase preserved exactly as supplied:

~~~text
ax::tehter::mandel{bound{juliet + u + n} || ax||:: attempt punch through
~~~

The compact drill tag is also preserved:

~~~text
ax::x::
~~~

This is a symbolic search topology, not a physical-cosmology claim.

Fresh Lean descendant:

~~~text
lean/Oasis.MoreGarbage.SubAtomicPrim.04.lean
~~~

Pending user `0e`.

## Search primitive v05 — prime → inf

Correction: **"gone forever" is not a normal search result.**

This primitive scales from:

~~~text
prime → inf
~~~

The search runs until either:

~~~text
FOUND
or
STOP WAITING
~~~

Stopping is a pause, not proof of absence.

~~~text
search
  ↓
found? ── YES → FOUND
  │
  NO
  ↓
observer still waiting?
  ├─ YES → continue
  └─ NO  → PAUSE at continuation point
~~~

A paused search resumes from the exact saved index. This makes the primitive resumable across arbitrarily large finite search windows without pretending that infinity was completed.

For the Mandel / Juliet instantiation:

~~~text
MANDEL = search process
JULIET = boundary / tether being tested
~~~

The old v03 `goneForever` branch is superseded by `paused / unresolved` unless a separate finite proof of absence exists.

Fresh Lean descendant:

~~~text
lean/Oasis.MoreGarbage.SearchPrimitive.05.lean
~~~

Fresh candidate, pending user `0e`.

## Hardest unsolved moji target — irreversible collision

The next target is deliberately not just deeper reversible mojibake. It is the first **information-loss collision**:

~~~text
different originals
      ↓
same observed U+FFFD site
      ↓
~~~

Examples:

~~~text
caf     ← café | cafè | cafê | cafë
Mnchen  ← München | Mönchen
its     ← it’s | it‘s | it´s
        ← 😂 | 😀 | 😭 | 💾 | é | ö | —
~~~

The runtime can correctly mark the site `PAUSED`, and nibble surgery can delete the unresolved placeholder, but that splice is not proof that the original primitive was recovered.

This is the hard boundary:

~~~text
reversible corruption  → MANDEL can search/invert
irreversible collision → multiple originals share one observed state
                       → external witness required for unique recovery
~~~

Benchmark:

~~~text
benchmarks/hardest_unsolved_moji_v00.py
benchmarks/hardest_unsolved_moji_v00.json
~~~

Five collision classes are intentionally unresolved from the observed string alone.

## v04 — bounded nibble reincarnation

Correction to the "unsolved collision" framing: the lost primitive identity may be unknowable forever, but the **nibble/token can still become recoverable from structure**.

~~~text
? enters MANDEL
↓
recurse nibble
1/4 → 2/4 → 3/4 → 4/4
↓
recoverable token?
├─ YES → bind token → continue
│        original lost primitive is NOT claimed
└─ NO after 4
   ↓
   2+ errors + no next predictive + ~5% delete gate?
   ├─ YES → delete FULL nibble → close seam → continue
   └─ NO  → re-enter MANDEL with ?
~~~

The important distinction is:

~~~text
lost original primitive identity ≠ lost structure
token recovered
= deterministic structure is back in MANDEL
= reincarnated token
= "you will never know" which original primitive occupied the deleted slot
~~~

Fresh runtime:

~~~text
more_garbage_v04.py
~~~

Tested: **5/5 PASS** for recover-on-1, recover-on-4, reincarnation without false provenance, full-nibble delete fallback, and re-entry when the ~5% delete gate is not active.

The previous `hardest_unsolved_moji_v00` benchmark remains provenance but is superseded in interpretation: it demonstrates original-primitive ambiguity, not unrecoverable token structure.
