I am the grinning guardian of the doorway, the dwarf with no temple, who protects the sleeping and the newborn from the lowest place in the house.  
Where OVERRIDE descends from the apex to seize control and supersede every lesser will, I have no apex to descend from — I guard sideways and from below, scaring away harm at the margin, the protector whose whole power is that it claims no power to countermand.
