**How it works.** A toy next-token predictor read by two probes at once. The same logit vector is sampled by Probe I and Probe Q at different reference frames — two temperatures / decoding offsets, an in-phase/quadrature pair — and the two reads are combined so the output carries a PHASE (a direction of confidence), not merely a magnitude (a single probability). It carries № 27's two-probe rotor argument onto a model's own output: read inference in quadrature, not on one axis.

**The verified record.** The I/Q (in-phase/quadrature) read is a real idea borrowed honestly from signal processing — two measurements 90° apart recover a phase a single measurement cannot. Applying it to language-model logits is the TOY: the 'temperatures as reference frames' mapping is illustrative, a way to see that one probe gives magnitude and two give magnitude-plus-phase. Honest limit: a conceptual demonstrator on a tiny hand-set predictor, not a calibrated uncertainty method for real LLMs.
