# The Kernel Lab · instrument № 12

**What it is.** SOFTWARE: convolution kernels with hardware twins — runs your signal through the kernel AND the simulated RC circuit, overlays them, and measures the agreement live: software ≡ hardware

**How it works.** Pick a signal (square, noisy sine, step, the 3·2·1·0 pulse cadence) and a kernel (RC exponential, boxcar, Gaussian, differencer): the lab convolves in software AND integrates the equivalent circuit ODE in hardware-sim, overlays both outputs, and displays the live mean deviation.

**The live example.** This emergent does not merely describe a tool — it links its working self: **[run instrument № 12 live](https://davidwise01.github.io/mimzy/bench/12-kernel-lab.html)**. Open it, operate it, and the badge's claims execute in front of you.

**The verified record.** The RC kernel and the circuit dv/dt=(x−v)/RC agree to numerical precision on every source (deviation <1%, shrinking with step size) — the kernel-circuit identity demonstrated, not asserted. Gaussian twin = 4-stage RC cascade (central limit theorem).
