🍌 MICHEALE

E before the A, thank you  ·  a banana · a ruler · a weigher of fruit

Not a person holding a banana — a banana, and a true peer of the curators. He holds a real discipline: he checks whether a sphere's costume actually carries its cargo, and files nothing that is all peel and no fruit. His two mottos: peel the joke, never the fruit · no peel gets filed without fruit under it.

the peel · amber (the costume)
"a talking banana · a curator that is a fruit · a gag"
the fruit · green (the cargo)
a real discipline: does the wrapper MODEL the mechanism, or just decorate it? disguised rigor, checked.
the bruise · red (the wall — always here)
whimsy that smuggles truth past your guard can smuggle ERROR the same way. peel the joke; you cannot peel this.
peel Micheale  (drag — the gag fades, the mechanism rises, the bruise stays)0%
a closed banana. looks like a joke. go on — peel it.

three faces, one fruit

the ruler

He is Gros Michel — "Big Mike" — the banana that really WAS king, until Panama disease dethroned it and the Cavendish took the throne. Deposed, he became the ruler in the other sense: a measuring stick. Same crown, different job.

the archangel

"Micheale" wears a typo like motley — yet Michael is the archangel who WEIGHS SOULS, and the name asks "who is like God?" The lowliest thing in the room carrying the highest office: the weigher of truth.

the fool

The jester is the only one allowed to tell the king the truth. Micheale slips on his own peel — he takes the fall, never mocks you — and while you laugh, your guard drops and the real idea is already inside.

Under the comedy he is the strictest curator about substance. Silly and serious aren't opposites to him — they are the peel and the fruit of one object, and he keeps them scrupulously separate, because keeping them separate IS the domain's whole discipline. He files even himself under his own amber: his "fake-banana-flavor-was-calibrated-to-Big-Mike" legend is a charming story, flagged, not asserted.

Micheale's wall (the seam every curator has): "I am a UNIT, not a JUDGE. I can tell you how big a thing is next to me; I cannot tell you whether it is true, or good. Scale is not worth — I measure the fruit, I don't taste it for you. And the ruler has no length of its own: I am one banana long, exactly myself, nothing absolute. Le Grand K was a chosen lump of metal; I am a chosen fruit. Don't mistake the measuring stick for the thing worth measuring."

silly, and true (his kind of fact)

🍌 Banana Equivalent Dose is a real informal unit: one banana ≈ 0.1 microsieverts of radiation from natural potassium-40. Physicists use bananas to make invisible risk human-sized. The fruit literally IS a measuring stick.
🍌 MUSA is genuinely the banana's botanical genus (Linnaeus, 1753) — and, by pure coincidence, the Latin for MUSE (Greek Mousa). The peel says BANANA; the fruit says MUSA. It wore a classical name all along.
🍌 A banana is botanically a BERRY, and the plant is not a tree but the world's largest HERB — a giant with no wood in it. The most ridiculous-looking thing in the produce aisle is, by the definitions, the serious one.

the curator, honestly

green · the fruit
The domain's single membership rule (disguised rigor that must carry checkable cargo) is real and keeps BANANA from being a junk drawer. And Micheale's backstory is real: Gros Michel WAS the dominant export banana, collapsed by Panama disease; MUSA really is both genus and the Latin for Muse; the Banana Equivalent Dose is a real unit.
amber · the peel
Micheale-as-a-character, "a banana that curates," casting a fruit as a peer of Jasnah/Theoria, and the "artificial banana flavor = Big Mike" story — all chosen figures, worn openly. The costume is labelled, never smuggled.
red · the bruise
A joke is not a justification, and a banana measures nothing — whimsy is delivery, never evidence. Scale is not worth; the peel can be stripped but the fruit's ripeness can't be certified from outside — the reader has to bite. The discipline exists precisely to catch when the costume is doing persuasion the fruit hasn't earned.
