Wax-resist batik made by a Gray–Scott reaction–diffusion run: the ARTIST tunes feed and kill, and the CRITIC looks for the spot-forming F = 0.035, k = 0.065.

AMBER Gray–Scott model: u̇ = Du∇²u − uv² + F(1−u), v̇ = Dv∇²v + uv² − (F+k)v (Pearson 1993 maps patterns over F,k). Target F = 0.035, k = 0.065. The homogeneous state u = 1, v = 0 is a fixed point.

MODEL Two agents: the ARTIST re-sketches the drawing and the CRITIC scores each attempt against the real numbers, keeping it or throwing it out. Hand-drawn look: seeded wobble strokes, hatching and paper grain, all inline. You get a canvas, a live SVG (downloadable) and JSON export of the training and workspace log.

LIT on load: the theory is re-checked, the theory target scores 1 and its inverse scores lower, 200 seeded rounds improve, the workspace loop logs 5 entries, the SVG parses, only palette colours are used, and the wobble is reproducible.

Workspace improvement loop: instructions for agents MODEL

  1. Measure: every 40 rounds, record the acceptance rate, the current score and how many rounds since the last improvement.
  2. Try next: if the score has been flat for 40 rounds, widen the mutation step. If acceptance is under 15%, shrink it; over 45%, widen it. Otherwise keep it.
  3. Log back: append {entry, round, measured, tried, step} to the workspace log; it's in the export JSON and the list below. Propose one change to the Mayhem workspace on the shared board.
  4. Repeat, forever: never stop improving. Re-check against the real data before you claim anything.
