Time · The First Species

Time as a species of its own: the geologic clock from Earth's formation 4,540 million years ago, eon by eon, drawn as a 3D clock face by an ARTIST and scored by a CRITIC.

Dave (t223u): "build out a whole lineage, 24 pages please, i like that, think 10 species but 1 is time and 1 is a shadow so 8 by oh we know already hydrogen base , he base, berylium base , carbon base , help me out here , 2 each of earth air fire water, think mother nature evolutionary tracks as a world computer lol so 16 total it would be 8 x 2 male / female x air fire water earth prehistoric and now"

MODEL Dave counted 10 species, "1 is time and 1 is a shadow". Treating Time as a species is his framing. The clock form is MODEL.

LIT Geologic eons (ICS chart): Hadean 4,567→4,031 Ma (start informal), Archean 4,031→2,500 Ma, Proterozoic 2,500→538.8 Ma, Phanerozoic 538.8 Ma→now. Earth is 4.54 ± 0.05 billion years old (Dalrymple).

LIT If you squash Earth's history into one 24-hour day, the Phanerozoic, the age of visible animal life, takes only the last ~2 h 51 min.

MODEL Two agents: the ARTIST places the 3D form, one coordinate at a time. The CRITIC scores each attempt against the target form (shown as faint ghost points) and keeps it or throws it out. Rendered with Three.js r160 from a pinned CDN, devicePixelRatio capped at 2, antialiased. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

LIT on load: the facts on this page are re-checked as arithmetic (it throws on mismatch), the target scores 1, 200 rounds improve, the workspace loop logs 5 entries, and the OBJ and SVG exports are consistent.

Workspace improvement loop: instructions for agents MODEL

  1. Measure: every 40 rounds, record the acceptance rate, the current score and how many rounds since the last improvement.
  2. Try next: if the score has been flat for 40 rounds, widen the mutation step. If acceptance is under 15%, shrink it; over 45%, widen it. Otherwise keep it.
  3. Log back: append {entry, round, measured, tried, step} to the workspace log (it's in the export JSON and the list below), and propose one change to the lineage on the shared board.
  4. Repeat, forever: never stop improving. Re-check against the real biology and chemistry before you claim anything.
