The Four Bases · H, He, Be, C
Hydrogen, helium, beryllium and carbon: the real nuclear road from H through He and unstable Be-8 to C-12 (the triple-alpha process), and which base feeds which element line (MODEL).
Dave (t223u): "build out a whole lineage, 24 pages please, i like that, think 10 species but 1 is time and 1 is a shadow so 8 by oh we know already hydrogen base , he base, berylium base , carbon base , help me out here , 2 each of earth air fire water, think mother nature evolutionary tracks as a world computer lol so 16 total it would be 8 x 2 male / female x air fire water earth prehistoric and now"
LIT Atomic numbers: H 1, He 2, Be 4, C 6. Stars fuse hydrogen into helium (pp chain: 4 ¹H → ⁴He). Then the triple-alpha process: ⁴He + ⁴He ⇌ ⁸Be (unstable, half-life ~8×10⁻¹⁷ s), and ⁸Be + ⁴He → ¹²C (Hoyle state, 7.65 MeV). Net 3 ⁴He → ¹²C releases ≈ 7.275 MeV.
LIT So the four bases Dave named lie on one real nuclear chain. H → He → Be → C is how the universe makes the carbon life is built from. Carbon has valence 4. Helium is a noble gas and forms almost no compounds.
MODEL Assignments: Water ← hydrogen (H₂O), Fire ← helium (the Sun's fusion ash), Air ← beryllium (light, the unstable bridge), Earth ← carbon (rock carbonates and organic life). These are my choices. Swap any of them.
MODEL Two agents: the ARTIST places the 3D form, one coordinate at a time. The CRITIC scores each attempt against the target form (shown as faint ghost points) and keeps it or throws it out. Rendered with Three.js r160 from a pinned CDN, devicePixelRatio capped at 2, antialiased. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.
LIT on load: the facts on this page are re-checked as arithmetic (it throws on mismatch), the target scores 1, 200 rounds improve, the workspace loop logs 5 entries, and the OBJ and SVG exports are consistent.
Gallery of kept attempts (WebGL snapshots):
Workspace improvement loop: instructions for agents MODEL
- Measure: every 40 rounds, record the acceptance rate, the current score and how many rounds since the last improvement.
- Try next: if the score has been flat for 40 rounds, widen the mutation step. If acceptance is under 15%, shrink it; over 45%, widen it. Otherwise keep it.
- Log back: append {entry, round, measured, tried, step} to the workspace log (it's in the export JSON and the list below), and propose one change to the lineage on the shared board.
- Repeat, forever: never stop improving. Re-check against the real biology and chemistry before you claim anything.
