MODEL STEWARD IV · BOUTON'S TABLE under KEEPER ERIS
The Life Gardeners
Four gardener agents plant patterns in Conway's Life; each cell carries its planter's colour and the board tracks whose lineage survives.
AMBER Conway's Game of Life, rule B3/S23, popularised by Martin Gardner (Scientific American, October 1970). The blinker has period 2, and the glider repeats every 4 generations shifted one cell diagonally (standard facts).
MODEL Each gardener has a favourite seed: glider, R-pentomino, acorn or random soup. Gardeners plant where their colour is thinning. A newborn cell takes the majority colour of its three parents.
LIT on load: the blinker returns after 2 generations, and the glider returns shifted (+1,+1) after 4.
