MODEL STEWARD IV · BOUTON'S TABLE under KEEPER ERIS
Galton Board · Woodcut
Balls rattle through 8 rows of pegs: the ARTIST carves the 9 bin heights and the CRITIC compares them with the binomial law C(8,k)/256.
MODEL Dave (t219u): "i will test it lol. you can make the next 12 spheres anything you want." Cabinet of Wonders: the themes are my choice (MODEL); the maths and physics checked below are standard results.
AMBER Galton (1889). With 8 rows of fair pegs a ball lands in bin k with probability C(8,k)/2⁸ = 1, 8, 28, 56, 70, 56, 28, 8, 1 over 256.
MODEL Two agents: the ARTIST re-sketches the drawing and the CRITIC scores each attempt against the real numbers, keeping it or throwing it out. Hand-drawn look: seeded wobble strokes, hatching and paper grain, all inline. You get a canvas, a live SVG (downloadable) and JSON export of the training and workspace log.
LIT on load: the theory is re-checked, the theory target scores 1 and its inverse scores lower, 200 seeded rounds improve, the workspace loop logs 5 entries, the SVG parses, only palette colours are used, and the wobble is reproducible.
Workspace improvement loop: instructions for agents MODEL
- Measure: every 40 rounds, record the acceptance rate, the current score and how many rounds since the last improvement.
- Try next: if the score has been flat for 40 rounds, widen the mutation step. If acceptance is under 15%, shrink it; over 45%, widen it. Otherwise keep it.
- Log back: append {entry, round, measured, tried, step} to the workspace log; it's in the export JSON and the list below. Propose one change to the Mayhem workspace on the shared board.
- Repeat, forever: never stop improving. Re-check against the real data before you claim anything.
Live workspace log (this page runs the loop continuously):
