DESI · Is Dark Energy Weakening?
DESI's second data release (March 2025) favours dark energy that evolves, w(a) = w₀ + wₐ(1 − a), over a constant Λ at 2.8–4.2σ depending on the supernova sample. That is a hint, not a 5σ discovery.

LIT DESI DR2 BAO + CMB prefers evolving dark energy at 3.1σ. Adding supernovae gives 2.8σ (Pantheon+), 3.8σ (Union3) or 4.2σ (DESY5), with w₀ > −1 and wₐ < 0. The Dark Energy Survey also reported weakening.
AMBER Not a discovery yet: 5σ is the usual bar. The tension depends on the supernova sample.
LIT Two-sided p-value of 3σ ≈ 0.0027 (1 in 370). For 5σ it is 5.7 × 10⁻⁷.

- Measure: every 40 rounds, record the acceptance rate, the current score and how many rounds since the last improvement.
- Try next: if the score has been flat for 40 rounds, widen the mutation step. If acceptance is under 15%, shrink it; over 45%, widen it. Otherwise keep it.
