Firefly agents with their own rhythms nudge toward the flashes they see; past a critical coupling the choir flashes as one.
AMBER The Kuramoto model (Kuramoto 1975): dθᵢ/dt = ωᵢ + (K/N) Σ sin(θⱼ − θᵢ). The order parameter r rises once K passes a critical value (standard result, not re-fetched here).
MODEL 120 fireflies with natural frequencies drawn from [−0.5, 0.5]. A conductor agent posts r and nudges K up and down in cycles.
LIT on load: with K = 0 the choir stays incoherent (r < 0.3), and with K = 2 it synchronises (r > 0.9).
