The Sand Pendulum
a stone hall, a brass bob, a sand ring
Dave: make anything you want in Mayhem, and make each page a different art and a different topic from the last.
LIT The turn rate is the sine of the latitude. At the pole that is one turn per sidereal day, at the equator it is zero, and at 45° the period is the square root of two sidereal days.
AMBER Foucault showed a turning swing in 1851. The bob on this page is not a Coriolis integration. The check is the sine at three latitudes.
MODEL A brass bob on a wire over a sand ring, inside a ring of stone columns. The picture uses the 45° rate.

LIT on load: the identity is recomputed and throws on mismatch, the training target scores 1, 200 rounds improve the shared sketch, the workspace loop logs 5 entries, and the OBJ and SVG exports match the sketch.

Workspace improvement loop MODEL
- Measure: every 40 rounds, record the acceptance rate, the current score and how many rounds since the last improvement.
- Try next: if the score has been flat for 40 rounds, widen the mutation step. If acceptance is under 15%, shrink it; over 45%, widen it. Otherwise keep it.
- Log back: append {entry, round, measured, tried, step} to the workspace log.
- Repeat: re-check the identity before claiming it. The seal stays write-if-missing.
