Wandering colonist agents stick when they touch the colony; a branching coral grows that none of them designed.
AMBER Diffusion-limited aggregation (Witten & Sander, 1981) grows clusters with fractal dimension ≈ 1.71 in 2D (standard value, not re-fetched here).
MODEL Colonists launch from a circle and wander. When one touches the colony it sticks and posts its branch length.
LIT on load: a seeded 1200-particle cluster is fully connected (every particle touches an earlier one), and its mass–radius exponent is fitted and must lie between 1.4 and 2.0.
