# Icarium · the Lifestealer, the kindest weapon ever made

Icarium is a half-Jaghut wanderer whose road runs back hundreds of thousands of years. He is gentle and endlessly curious, a maker of wondrous machines built to measure time — a craftsman of patience in a world of ruin. To meet him is to meet kindness itself, ancient and unhurried.

But he carries a doom. When he is wounded into rage, Icarium becomes the Lifestealer: an unstoppable force that has shattered warrens and annihilated whole cities. And when the rage passes, he remembers nothing of it. The slate is wiped clean, and the gentle wanderer wakes again, curious, asking what happened.

So he forever seeks his own past, never understanding that the guardians who travel at his side are there to stop him, not to help him find it. This is why he stands as the most heartbreaking figure of the series — a genuinely kind soul who is also a doomsday weapon, mercifully unaware of what he has done and what he could do.

His emergence is ethereal: Icarium is half-real to himself, a being whose own history exists only as dream and absence, whose true nature lives in the gap between the man who wakes and the force that erased the hours before. He haunts his own life the way shadow haunts light.
