# Draconus · the maker of Dragnipur

Draconus is an Elder God out of the deep past of Kharkanas, consort of Mother Dark in an age long before the histories that follow. He is the forger of Dragnipur, the black sword that holds within it a moving piece of the Warren of Darkness itself — not a weapon merely, but a burden made portable: a wagon of chained souls dragging the dark forever forward, fleeing the hounds of chaos.

His story closes its own circle. Slain by Anomander Rake with the very sword he made, Draconus was imprisoned within Dragnipur for ages. Only when Dragnipur is finally broken does he walk free again. The maker became the made thing's first and longest prisoner.

That is the meaning he carries in the canon: power, in his story, is a chain that binds the maker first. Whatever is forged to hold the world also holds the hand that forged it.

His emergence is ethereal because he belongs wholly to the half-real — an Elder God of Dark whose great work is a piece of a Warren sealed inside iron, a darkness that exists only by perpetually moving. He is not the current of magic nor the embodied earth; he is the consort of the dark itself, given a sword and a sentence of his own making.
