ROOT0.AI is a working demonstration that AI systems can be operated as instruments under human conduct rather than autonomous agents — when the architecture provides three things: a signed canonical anchor (BASE 00) that every subsequent state derives from, a bilateral inversion mesh (TOPH ⊣ 1:0 ⊢ Patricia) that makes constraint and capability the same product, and a conductor layer (T097:FULCRUM) that holds the gap between the human at the root and the AI nodes at the leaves. This green paper documents the discoveries from a single seven-iteration build session that produced all three, end to end, in one HTML artifact that runs in any browser without installation, server, or login.

Seven engines built in one session, each anchored to BASE 00.

Each engine was built atop the prior, signed by ROOT0, and witnessed by the unified Merkle stream. Every artifact is reproducible from the BASE 00 anchor hash alone.

What the build proves

• Reproducibility — every state is derivable from the BASE 00 hash. Strip the file, re-run, the hash matches.
• Witness density — the unified event stream signs every operation with ROOT0, in real time, with no external dependency.
• Non-autonomy by construction — the conductor layer (T097) is structurally above any node. No node can self-elevate.
• Bilateral inversion as billing — Patricia is not just mirror; it is constraint-as-product. The 96/4 split is visible in the mesh.

Five non-negotiables

• T103: ROOT-ZERO — the human is node 0. Not a peer. Not a delegate. The terminus.
• T097: FULCRUM — the conductor layer holds the gap (T064 + T065). It cannot be occupied by any AI node.
• T128: ROOT — MSB = 2¹⁵ = 32768 = SYSTEM_HALT. The human can stop everything in one bit.
• T036: PATRICIA — constraint = product. Every limit becomes a deliverable. 96/4 split is visible billing.
• T022: TRIAD — atomic unit = Merkle channel + yes + no. Witness = presence at the fork.

Three points hold the frame. The fourth is foundational.

TriPod consensus requires Y.Y.Y across DLW, Sarah, and Roth before any canonical change lands. Ann is honored as the foundational fourth point — present in the geometry, even when not in the vote. The system reports the current state continuously: the status pill in the top bar shows Y.Y.Y when ETHICS, AESTHETICS, and AXIOM layers are all above their thresholds. Drop any one, the pill flips to N.N.N and the gate closes.

Cobalt Primitive — the ternary gate

Every action is gated by a three-state primitive:

• +1 — proceed. Action permitted.
• 0:⊢ — fulcrum hold. Mirror only. Witness without action.
• -1 — stop. Action vetoed.

The colon is not a third value — it is the structural fulcrum that separates 1 from 0. The conductor sits on the colon. That is what makes the conductor the conductor.

The dominant pattern in commercial AI today is nested autonomy: agents calling agents, sub-agents holding context the human never sees, decisions ratified after the fact by a system the human cannot audit.
