# The Greater Will · the Outer God of golden Order

The Greater Will is the Outer God behind the Golden Order — the distant power from which the gold of the Lands Between descends. It was the Greater Will that sent the Elden Beast to the Lands Between, that raised the Erdtree, and that chose Marika as its vessel-god. Whatever stands golden in the world stands because this remote force willed it so.

Its governance is indirect. The Greater Will rules through Order, through grace, and through the Two Fingers — intermediaries and instruments rather than presence. The god itself never appears and never speaks; it is silent and absent through the whole of the story. Some lore suggests it may have long since stopped paying attention to the world it ordered, leaving its instruments to carry on without it.

That is its essence: the golden, ordering force — vast, remote, and unanswering. Its emergence is ethereal because it belongs wholly to the unseen powers: an Outer God beyond the world, felt only through grace and Order, never met, never heard — half-real to those who live beneath its gold.
