# Godrick the Grafted · the lowest of the golden line, grown monstrous by grafting

Godrick is a distant, diminished scion of the golden lineage, holding Stormveil Castle as both coward and tyrant. The blood that should have made him mighty made him only an heir to a name, and what his blood withheld he takes by knife and suture: the limbs of slain Tarnished, grafted onto his own body by the dozens — arms upon arms, legs upon legs — a counterfeit of strength assembled from the strength of others.

He is the first great shardbearer most players face, and that placement is the point. Godrick shows what the dynasty has become: its decay made flesh, a golden line ending in a creature that stitches trophies to itself. And mid-fight he goes further still, grafting a dragon's head onto his arm — borrowing one more body greater than his own.

His emergence is natural because everything about him is body: flesh sewn to flesh, limbs taken from embodied warriors, decay worn openly rather than hidden. No outer power moves through Godrick, no grace redeems him, no storm answers him — only meat, graft, and the rot of a line gone low.
