This is ROOT0's opinionated ranking, leaning toward those who towered by fame, consequence, and reach. The board crowns figures who are broadly admired or at least not monstrous — but the rule (“it doesn't matter what they did”) would, taken literally, also rank the tyrants who shadowed their decades — among them Hitler and Stalin in the 1930s–40s, Mao in the 1950s–60s. They are named here, honestly, and deliberately not crowned. Dominance is not endorsement. The 50.495495% is, of course, made up — that's the joke.
